I want to know if it will be possible in the near future for graphics to transmit to the expressions along with the text. I teach geometry at my school, and my activote questions always had figures that went along with the questions. When I have used the activotes, I drew all of the diagrams I needed. And I know that the expressions can be used like the activotes (one question and one diagram at a time), but I want to know if it will be feasible in the future to have the self-pacing questions with diagrams using the expressions. Is this in the making? I'm hoping this question has already been addressed.

It's not exactly what you are asking for, but I think it was Gautam who suggested a while back one of these ideas: a) having a hardcopy of the parts of questions that can't make it to the Expressions when doing self-placed questioning, or b) creating a self-paced flipchart that does not have the questions or answers entered in but with the number/letter of the "correct" answer identified. Students can still be presented with random questions that they answer at their own speed using the handout as a reference as needed. I haven't used this yet myself, but I plan to at some point soon. It's too great to pass up!

One issue I do have is the limitation on the length of answers that I can use with self-paced questioning. I know that I can have longer answers printed out as above, but having double the available number of characters would offer a good bit more flexibility.

On a related but different topic, there has also been the rare occaision when a longer question does not provide the usual scrolling on the Expression that is supposed to happen when the height of the screen is exceeded. The text of the question is simply cut off. Does anyone else have experience with this?

Tom,
I believe you can hit the "down" arrow to see more of the text question. Thanks for your suggestions above.

In regards to the original posting about images and graphics. I honestly have no idea, but I do know that the devices are just a simple LCD screen. They can show simple images (such as the logo that flies in), but I don't know if you could get too detailed at this point even if Inspire allowed you to enter an image.

Thanks Tom for your response to my question. I had actually given that some thought - to have a hard copy of my imagines to hand out to the students while they still receive the questions on their expressions. My other idea was to have all the diagrams on 1 flipchart and have the multiple questions sent to the expressions. At the moment, I don't have the expressions at our school, but we're getting them in the near future. I'm just trying to prepare ahead of time as to how I would handle the graphics with geometry. It's a different ballgame with geometry. Thanks for your input. Let me know if you think of any more great ideas. I would love to hear them. :)

Using diagrams on one page is good and works well. I put together various demo pages for different subjects including a geometry one. It showed 6 different drawn angles with a self paced question set around which was obtuse, acute and right-angle and a second level for estimating the angle. Self Paced allows you to set tolerences to the answers so estimating and angles size worked well. The class I presented to enjoyed it anyway - so did the teacher!
