How do I use "Magic Eraser." I saw someone use the tool to reveal a picture "underneath" another picture that was showing. I thought it was pretty cool. So, I downloaded the "magic eraser" resource pack and tried to set it up, but it's not working. I wrote a math equation on a flipchart page and I wanted to cover the answer with a picture. So, I wrote out the answer and layered it to the bottom layer. Then I layered the picture to the middle layer on top of the answer. The picture covered the answer, but when I used my magic eraser (the magnifying glass) it did not work. So, I tried layering the picture to the top layer and still it didn't work. What am I doing wrong??

Why don't you post your work and we'll check to see what the problem is.

Did you view the Activtip about the Magic Eraser? You will find the Activtips under the Professional Development link. They are really helpful.

I second that: go check out ActivTips.
The simple expliation is that the magic eraser will 'look thorough' anything on the top layer. Make sure the magic eraser is above what you want to look though.
Enjoy!

Thanks everyone for the help! I have not spent much time on this site, but plan to now. So, I am just getting myself familiar with all the cool stuff available on this website that will help me with my ActivBoard. Anyway, I really appreciate the help and will check out the ActivTips.

You correctly put your picture on the top layer. After that the problem was not you. There is no "magic ink" in the middle of the magnifying glass revealer. I went and checked it. There is nothing in the middle. That is why it didn't work. You will need to go to the magic ink, and carefully "color in" the middle of the magnifying glass. Then group the magnifying glass and your magic ink together. Pass it across your work (make sure the picture is on the top layer), and it should work now.
I took a picture of the revealer I am talking about. Is this the one you used (It says revealer in the Resource Library)?

Does anyone know if there is anything in the works to add magic eraser as a shape? It would be much easier to create our own magic eraser if we could use it as a fill in a shape.:)

That would be really cool. I would love it if the fill tool would have an optional color like "magic"!

There is a way to create your own "magic revealer". Its fairly simple, and as of yet i only know how to create a square area. Firstly, take your pen and increase its width. You can pick any color it doesnt matter and draw a blob on the page. Next, choose your eraser and click inside the blob you have drawn. Now you have an erased area in your blob. Take your pen modifier tool and draw a square to enclose your erased area. You can then draw a straight line to make a "handle". Drag your 'blob' to the trash can to delete it. Next highlight your new creation and group the erased area, your square outline, and 'handle' together. You now have created your own personal magical revealer. Enjoy!

There are a bunch of pre-created magic erasers in this resource pack as well as ideas/applications for them.

To make for example a circle you can do this.
have a background to see what you do.
Draw something with the pen over the background
Make one circle on the pen drawing (have a border but no fill colour)
Move the circle to the top of all objects
Zoom in the picture for better precision.
Fill the circle whit the magic eraser. You must go in over the border of the circle but not outside the circle.
When this is done you delete the pen drawings.
Move the circle to the top over magic eraser so it look good.
Make sure that all magic eraser and the circle is grouped.
Save it in you resource for use later on.
I hope this will help you.
