These are all brilliant. One question: is it possible to 'extract' the flash file? It would be useful if they could be stand alones. Of course one could modify the flp around the flash file and save it under a new name I suppose.

Yes, as long as you leave the original link in place you can modify the flipchart as you like.

Although it is possible to extract the Flash element (.swf file) from a flipchart these particular ones are designed to be run from within the flipchart environment. As these were authored in version 2.1 the files open upin their own window inside Active Primary and can be used full screen if desired.

I will get round to re-authoring them in version 2.5 so you can write directly over them from inside the flipchart.

This is great. [clap] Is it possible to make more charts using the "clue finder" so that I can make more pages on the chart using different words?

If you go to the website and click on the maths resources for instance you can the right click on the file and choose save as. The it will save the actual swf file to your computer.

Cheers for that Seabass, shame they aren't all swf files but the ones that are available will be very useful.

To get the file out of the flipchart, open it (the flipchart) up in winzip and it will show all of the individual components. Drag the .swf file to your desktop and voila. You can so the same with videos as well.

[clap] [clap] Thanks to Peter Lambert for teaching me this. [clap] [clap]

Dug, if you try to save it and it says it is an html then you can extract the swf from the web page. There are a couple of ways you can do this, the easiest is to use a flash capture tool such as http://www.flashcapture.com/, you can download free trial versions.

Secondly once the file has been loaded you can usually find it in your internet cache, just do a search for *.swf files in your temporary internet folder.

I'm with you, Seabass. Many, many thanks for the tips. I (and I'm sure others) appreciate the help.

Might I suggest a third way? - contact the author and ask for a copy of the swf file!

Disassembling other peoples resources maybe breaking copyright, so It's always best to check. Recently I found a teacher on ebay selling a CD containing some of my resources and I was not best pleased!

Good point Dan, what a cheak, can't believe they were doing that. I wasn't suggesting dissembling the swf, i know you can get programs that convert swf's back into fla's. I was just suggesting extracting the swf from the web, but I guess that could be seen as dissembling too, especially if they integrated the swf into their own file and claimed it was their own.
