When in Page Organiser View, I want to be able to double click a slide to go to it - like in PowerPoint. The only way to return to a slide seems to be to return to the first one. Not very helpful when you want to use this view to navigate around.

Well you could click on the thumbnails which you can have access to by clicking on the thumbnail view option on the horizontal toolbar to the side of the flipchart page.

True - but it still seems like an obvious enhancement to include in the future - after all users expect to their skills to be portable between applications, and I'm sure you'd like to think that skills were portable from PowerPoint where sensible.

Yep, totally agree. As a new user, I'm finding many aspects of the ActivStudio user interface a bit rough in places, and this was one of the obvious ones... I have been demonstrating the software to my colleagues over the past few days and have put together a few demo flips... but it's quite frustrating not being able to jump to the page I want by doing something that should seem so intuitive - double clicking it in Page Organiser View...

I thought it was just my inexperience, but it seems not...

Sorry fellas....

but there could be a million things I could list here that Powerpoint can't do :D

In the end, there are some things which can be accommodated and some that can't. This feature is not supported and I am afraid you have to trade this "apparent" downside for some of the much more iwb friendly features. Powerpoint is a presentation piece of software it does not invite interactivity other than to click on a slide to move it on....

Do you really need an iwb for that?

Chris.... these "rough" things you refer to... can we help with any of these?

Come on guys lets hear some of the advantages of AS2 too :D

Yes, there are many things that ACTIVstudio can do, and it is really, really clever - I went through a very thorough consultation and demonstration process before choosing Promethian boards for our school, and we now have something like 12 of them, so I'm not trying to pick holes - I'm trying to make suggestions for future features as this forum is supposed to be for.
Rather than saying that it isn't a supported feature, I'd assumed that people at Promethean might think "now that's a good idea" - especially if people like Chris come onto the furum and agree.
Whilst on the matter, I notice that these forums aren't used a great deal by a vast number of people, so any feedback you receive on them ought to be valued - afterall we've taken the time to make suggestions.

And I'm convinced that this feature can easily be accommodated - it's only a double-click I'm after! Anyway, I'll continue to use this forum to make suggestions for future improvements. I won't use it for saying what ACTIVstudio CAN do because that's not its purpose. Unfortunately it's a fact of life that people criticise far more often than they praise. Sorry about that.

And for the positive feedback: I'm genuinely impressed with the quick feedback that we get from Promethean people on these forums. It really helped me last week. Thank-you.

You are dead right in what you say, and indeed we really value feedback and these suggestions.

I can assure you that everything here is evaluated and most are added to our "feature request" database for consideration for inclusion in future releases.

Hi gec!

Thanks for your feedback. As I understand it, the purpose of the Page Organiser is to organise the pages in your Flipchart. It is not meant to be a navigational aid. If you want to navigate through pages in your Flipchart by clicking on thumbnails, have you tried using the Page Selector? This is the button above the Page Organiser on the Flipchart Toolstrip.

Hope this helps.

Yes, but that's not my point. The point of the Page Organiser might have been to organsie pages - and indeed is certainly used for that. But users will want to go to a certain slide having organised them. And how do they expect to do that? Double click on it! It's a very small point which seems to have been blown out of proportion. Perhaps it can't be done for some technical reason, in which case fair enough, but it seems so logical and intuitive that if it can be done it should be.

Hi gec

Thank you for your comments and interest in putting forward suggestions, I can assure you that all suggestions are looked at and whilst most things suggested are usually though not always possible, they are all looked at and if considered worthwhile given a priority in light of other development work being undertaken.

This forum is not the place to discuss the merits of a users suggestion - that should be done by the software development team - having said that healthy discussion on any topic is welcome as is other users commenting on the proposed feature request.

Promethean do listen intently to user feedback and many hundreds of enhancements have found their way into the software that started of as user suggestions - so please continue to suggest enhancements and yes we do also appreciate constructive critism of existing features you feel could be improved.

As for the page organiser feature this discusion surrounds you can be assured that this request will be added to the list of suggestions for review.
