Is it possible to remove the Watermark when using the software without a board attached?? I often prepare flipcharts at home and I have found it to be a problem when copying objects/sections of a flipchart page to another - the watermark also copies over....
I was advised that the Watermark would not appear if an ACTIVtablet was attached - however this does not seem to be the case.

Have you installed the driver which is on the cd which came with the tablet?

This should sort it!

Ofcourse!! I got a bit carried away as I was able to use the tablet without the driver installed!!!
Thank you - that has done the trick!

Glad you have lost the watermark now!
However, here's a tip ...
Quote: I have found it to be a problem when copying objects/sections of a flipchart page to another - the watermark also copies over....
Yes, this will happen if you are using the camera tool to copy things from one page to the other.
If you go into page selector view you can just drag and drop objects from one page to another.

Hi Bridget,What Pete means I think is....
If you go to your page selector mode... which is the next icon down after the "next page previous page icon arrows" It has a finger pointing onto some pages....
If you click on this icon, your pages will appear as thumbnails down the right hand side of your screen. You can actually move these thumbnails so that they appear on the bottom or the left hand side of the screen to. (Once you have the thumbnails visible, right click on either the bottom or the left hand side of the screen/board and they will shift there! [clap]
Wherever you have your thumbnails visible what the software allows you to do is to drag either text or images from one page to another.
So lets say you have some text on one page which you want to drag to another page. Click on the icon to present the thumbnails - as mentioned above - and then drag from one page to one of the pages of your choice within the thumbnails.
I feel as though I have made heavy weather of this... let me know how you get on !!

Those early days with your 48" board +wave+ beeping away seem like distant memories :D

Hi Margaret
Thanks for your swift response! I'll let you know how I get on.
Just installed amp and speakers for my whiteboard - the sound quality is excellent! I have to commend Promethean on its technical support, I received very clear and detailed instructions on the wiring, bypassing the Becta box.

Hi there
You can drog and drop a lot of things in ACTIVstudio.
Make your flipchart a window so you can see other applications etc.
Try dragging text to and from word/excel/powerpoint or web pages. Then try dragging image files from folders or even direct from web pages.
There's a whole load more drag and drops to discover!

Hi Peter
Thanks for the tips, as you say there is so much to discover! Is it possible to drag and drop sounds, say from a website...........or is that expecting too much?........ and would it be possible to embed them into an animation on a flp?

You can import sound clips and have them played when you click on an object [clap]
Edit: Attached a (not very detailed - sorry) image of more-or-less what to do to get you started.

Thanks I'll give it a go - I have seen some websites that offer sound effects which could be useful

I bought 420 sound clips, along with loads of fonts, textures and web-graphics for £4 a while back!
Sound in flipcharts is also useful 'cause you can record your own clips using a microphone and play it back to the learners, e.g. parts of the flipchart are read out to the learners!!

In order to drag and drop you need to be able to see the file. Normally the sound files don't appear on web pages. If however you can see the sound file then yes you can drag and drop it on to the flipchart page. Any sound file on your hard disk for instance. The Shared sounds library has many example sounds too.

I have seen some sound files on various web pages so I'll have a go at dragging and dropping.
I like Dave's idea of using a microphone to record students - it opens up a range of uses.
Presumably you could just plug a microphone into the laptop?

Yes, without the laptop part :D (desktop PC)

Oh, Make sure that your PC's sound card properties are set up properly as well. Maybe consult your IT dept if you have one?
Otherwise, you'll need to be going into "Sounds and Audio Devices" in the Control Panel.
Have fun :)

Thanks for all the tips on dragging objects into Flipcharts. I use equation editor in Word quite a lot - I used to copy and paste from Word but the drag and drop is a good alternative!!
