Would be nice (and more consistent) if actions like link could be applied to annoatations as well as images and text.
Ideally, so as to be able to create 'hotspots' within images by using the highlighter to pick out part of them.

Hmmm - it's maybe not quite what you're looking for, but this works. Use the pen modifier tool to create a narrow rectangle - about the width of the highlight you want. Fill it with colour using the fill tool. You can bin the outline shape if you want. Double click on the coloured fill and go into Object Properties. Go to Pen type and select Highlighter. You now have the option to go into Actions and make your hyperlink.
You could of course use another shape - or even the point to point!
It's a bit more long winded than just using the Highlighter pen to create your "hot spots", but you can make links this way. :-/

I couldn't make that work. Do you mean I could change the fill to a highlight?
I can't understand either why a fill would allow you to attach a link and a line wouldn't--that seems even more inconsistent!
Thanks for the suggestion though. Do you have an example maybe?

Brilliant, Sharon, thanks works perfectly for what I want.
(Like a muppet I was clicking highlight on the toolbox instead of changing it in the properties :o )
