• What are Promethean Applications?

  Promethean Applications consist of two applications – NoteBoard and TouchPad. Promethean Applications must be used in conjunction with Promethean ActivBoard 500 Pro and can also be used with Promethean learner response systems, or both - to help deliver truly interactive and engaging teaching and learning experiences.

• What are the main features of the product?

  Promethean Applications main features include:

  1. Pen and Touch user interface designed to realise the ‘Pen and Touch’ potential of ActivBoard 500 Pro.
  2. Simple and easy to understand user interfaces.
  3. Built-In Help files
  4. Up to four users can collaborate simultaneously (with one-touch point each)
  5. Handwriting recognition tools. UK and US English with additional language support to follow.
• What are the Minimum Operating System requirements for Promethean Applications?

• How do I access and install Promethean Applications?

  Simply log onto Promethean Planet and download Promethean Applications (single file) at www.PrometheanPlanet.com/PrometheanApplications
  To run Promethean Applications, ActivDriver 5.7 or newer version is required. If ActivBoard 500 Pro is shared by a number of users, Promethean Applications will need to be installed to each computer.

• What is the licensing behind the software? And how many machines can I have it installed on?

  Licensing for Promethean Application is for single users only. The license agreement is available to view from the application help system. Promethean Applications can be installed on several machines but they will only run when connected to an ActivBoard 500.

• What products can Promethean Applications be used with?

  The software has been designed to be used in conjunction with:

  1. Promethean ActivBoard 500 Pro
  2. Promethean Learner Response Systems; ActivExpression and ActivEngage
• Do I need to install ActivInspire to run Promethean Applications?

  No, Promethean Applications are stand-alone applications and do not require users to have ActivInspire installed. However, to use ActivBoard 500 Pro touch functionality when using ActivInspire, users must download ActivInspire 1.5 Professional Edition at www.PrometheanPlanet.com/ActivInspire. Previous versions of ActivInspire will not support ActivBoard 500 Pro’s ‘touch’ functionality.

• Can I use Promethean Applications simultaneously with ActivInspire?

  Promethean Applications can be used in conjunction with ActivInspire.

• Can I use Promethean Applications simultaneously with ActivInspire?

  Promethean Applications can be used in conjunction with ActivInspire.

• What languages are available?

  Promethean Applications are available in UK or US English only. There are plans for other languages in future versions.

• How do I acquire Promethean Applications?

  The software can be downloaded from Promethean Planet http://www.PrometheanPlanet.com/PrometheanApplications. The applications are free to download but will only run on a machine that is connected to an ActivBoard 500.

• Is there multi-touch capability in Promethean Applications?

  The software recognizes and accepts multiple input, either pen or touch, when used with ActivBoard 500 Pro. Promethean Applications can accept 4 simultaneous touch points.

• Who is it for?

  Promethean Applications are available for all ActivBoard 500 Pro users to use and are a simple way to collate and aggregate ideas, brainstorm, keep and accumulate ideas and notes. All work can be saved, printed and shared.
